We have been preparing the beds in the market garden and getting our first plants in the ground. Here we cleared over-wintering salads from the tunnel after harvesting mizuna and rocket seed, then planted out French beans, which will be ready for your veg box in July!

We're expanding our veg growing space in 2018 to grow more than twice as much as last year! This includes a second poly tunnel which we have been putting up with a little help from the farm hens.
More fresh, healthy veg will mean that there's greater choice and more places for you to buy from us and restaurants which are serving our food. We will be starting a veg box scheme in 2018, sign up to our mailing list to keep up to date. This year was our first growing season, and we had a great year with lots of produce. We also enjoyed meeting some people at our open day and at the farm gate. We're starting to make plans for what we want to grow, sell and do next year. We want to be a community farm supplying locally, so your opinion is important to us.
Please spend 15 minutes filling in our survey. Deadlines for survey is Sunday 8th October. We will enter all survey responses into a lucy draw to win a £10 veg box from us. Thanks for your time ! Thanks so much for everyone that came along to our open day!
We had a lovely time meeting all of you, from near and far (I think the furthest was the couple from Holland) and getting you to all guess the weight of the marrow. Congratulations to Anne Lonsdale who got it right. It was actually not as heavy as many of us thought at 1.85kg. Next event will be a pizza night on Saturday 23rd September. Hope you can come along. Or come along to our drop in volunteer sessions every Friday 1-4pm, rain or shine! |
